The Forestry Youth Education Academic Coordinator will oversee the Forestry Institute for Teachers program and develop a comprehensive forest education program preparing California’s youth to tackle future forest management needs. The academic coordinator will serve as a liaison between UC ANR academics, other credentialed educators, forestry professionals and the general public to provide education on forest resilience, forest management, career opportunities, and community resilience. The incumbent will also support the development and distribution of research-based information to address ongoing workforce capacity issues throughout the state. Additional responsibilities include identifying extramural fund development opportunities and developing a system to track project performance.

Requirements:
Education: An earned Master’s degree or other advanced degree in Forestry, Education, Natural Resources, or related field is required at time of appointment.

This position is a definite term appointment. The position is a one-year renewable term appointment (up to 3 years) with a merit cycle every two years. The performance in the position will be evaluated annually. The position will be extended based on the continued need for the position, performance and availability of funding.
