South Dakota State University College of Nursing is offering an exciting career opportunity as a Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor. The College of Nursing is especially interested in candidates who have significant potential for building an extra-murally funded program of research. Research priorities are improvement of health outcomes, promoting health for rural and underserved populations, and transforming nursing and interprofessional health education. This is a 12-month term position which is full-time, benefit-eligible and is supervised by the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Nursing. The work location is based at our Sioux Falls site. Bordering Iowa and Minnesota, Sioux Falls is in the “Heart of America.” Conveniently located at the junction of Interstates 90 and 29 on the banks of the Big Sioux River. As South Dakota’s largest city, it is within a day’s drive of most major Midwestern cities.

Faculty members plan, implement, and evaluate assigned courses either as an individual assignment or as a member of a teaching team.
· Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences;
· Excellent oral and written communication skills;
· Minimum of three years of relevant Nurse Practitioner Clinical practice experience;
· Evidence of professional service;
· Formal teaching experience in nursing;
· Education from more than one degree granting institution;
· Demonstrated evidence of potential for scholarly activity.
