The Agronomy, Horticulture and Plant Science Department in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at South Dakota State University an Integrated Pest Management Specialist. This position is supervised by the Extension Field Crop Entomologist. The work location is in Brookings, South Dakota at the main campus of South Dakota State University. This position is a 12-month, 100%-time, benefit-eligible position. Candidates are sought that have a strong background in integrated pest management.
The successful applicant will be expected to assist the existing IPM Coordinator in developing a nationally recognized IPM program that includes the development of IPM related publications, meetings, and educational events.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be a critical member of the collaborative Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program at South Dakota State University. The incumbent is expected to be active in publishing fact sheets, identification guides, extension articles, and pest management guides covering insects, plant diseases, and weeds. The incumbent will also be expected to assist with the development of webinars, field schools, focused workshops, and field days.
