Assistant Professor

The Department of Public Policy and Administration at Jackson State University invites applications for a Tenure-Track, Associate Professor position, beginning August 2023.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION

Must have a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration or a related field.

SKILL & ABILITIES

  • Must be able to teach public budgeting and financial management and other courses in the Ph.D. and MPPA curriculum demonstrated through transcripts and experience
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with various constituencies on multiple projects
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to engage in grantspersonship and published research as well as a willingness to teach online courses

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teaching courses in the following areas: Public Finance, State and Local Government and General Management
  • Sponsoring and/or co-sponsoring student organizations, as well as mentor and advise students
  • Serving on Departmental, School, College, University or Community committees
  • Participating in program assessment of student learning outcome
