About This Role:
The Department of Computer Science is seeking an Academic Program Assistant to do the following:
Supports Academic Advisors with evaluating, organizing, and assisting students with scheduling. Handles the evaluation process for transfer courses and communicates between students, evaluators, and Dean offices. Schedules and assists students in Orientation and Enrollment. Uses KSIS to assign advisors, give permissions, run DARs reports and master extracts. Assists students with the enrollment process and trains students in the use of KSIS or SSC for enrollment. Organizes prospective visits with high schools as required. Greets and organizes incoming prospective students. Assists with outreach and event coordination to promote the department programs. (35%)
Collects and maintains graduate school applications using CollegeNet. Performs the initial evaluation of undergraduate professional program applicants using an internal department system. Ensures all application documents are collected and organized. In charge of collecting information on graduating student’s post-graduation plans. Manages information collection process for program outcomes that are used in evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of department degree program. (25%)
Receptionist for department. Answer and transfer phone calls, maintain room calendars. Maintain and edit the departments website and social media accounts, and newsletter. Manage physical appearance of office. Assist with travel, do inventory, and order supplies for the office. Supervise and hire student workers and graphic designers (20%)
Administrative support for the Department Head. Maintain department head schedule. Duties that have not yet been identified or assigned as they cannot be predicted. Employee can confer and receive clarification from the Department Head regarding these duties should they arise. (10%)
Schedule curriculum meetings for faculty. Proctor, schedule, and print exams and make-up exams. Schedule rooms for finals. (10%)

Minimum Requirements:
• Requires a high school diploma and four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Over one year of office and clerical support work is preferred.
• Experience in university and/or academic institutions.
• Strong interpersonal and listening, skills and abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to perform and complete multiple projects and tasks while collaborating effectively with others.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
• Computer/Technology skills: MS Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, database applications.
• K-State Systems such as eForms and KSIS will be used frequently, prior knowledge of these systems is a plus, but not required.
