About This Role:
The purpose of this position is to provide management and technical support for the College of Arts and Science accounting software systems and associated hardware as well as leadership and training for college employees utilizing the system. This is a highly independent position which provides expertise in the design, development, and utilization of college accounting systems. This position works independently to lead system functionality and collaborates with college units, the Division of Financial Services and the KSU Foundation to ensure accurate data flow into Arts and Sciences accounting systems. The incumbent must be familiar with K-State accounting processes and systems to provide correct configuration and recommendations.
This position is also responsible for monthly account reconciliation and for troubleshooting issues that arise related to balancing accounts. The incumbent is expected to assist the college budget/fiscal officer in providing leadership to the financial accounting team for assigned departments.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalency in experience
• Three to five years relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• Knowledge of general rules and regulations concerning accounting and budgeting in Higher Education
• Knowledge of budget, inventory and procurement practices and procedures
• Experience with financial systems at K-State
• Experience in accounting computer software, including MIP
• Excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to determine priorities and work independently
• Ability to maintain total confidentiality in regard to budget and salary information
• Ability to read, comprehend and apply pertinent law, rules, and regulations
• Ability to detect and reconcile discrepancies in financial records
• Ability to train student employees and advise employees on University and College-level policies and procedures
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and representatives of other departments and agencies
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a diverse group of people both on and off campus
