Money Talks Academic Coordinator 1

POSITION PURPOSE: The University of California, Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) is seeking a Money Talks Project Coordinator (Academic Coordinator I) to coordinate a two-year project focusing on financial literacy curriculum development to educate teens and young adults. The Academic Coordinator coordinates California’s youth financial literacy work to develop, strengthen, and evaluate programmatic opportunities for California’s young people in the areas of personal financial management, relationships between nutrition and finances, and financial skill development. A key focus of this position is to coordinate development of pilot research of a new curriculum module that educates youth about “Living on My Own.” This position connects with the UC ANR initiative to increase positive youth development to help youth prepare for college, work, and life.

This is not an academic career-track appointment. This position is funded through September 15, 2020 with the possibility of renewal up to two (2) additional years based on performance and availability of funding. The performance in this position will be evaluated annually. The merit cycle for this position will be evaluated every two (2) years.

ACADEMIC EXPECTATIONS: All UC ANR Academic Coordinator appointees are responsible for performance in the areas 1) coordination of academic programs, 2) professional competence and activity and 3) University and public service.

Minimum and Required Qualifications:
 A minimum of a Master’s Degree is required, though advanced degrees are encouraged, in education or the social/behavioral sciences, such as consumer science, family studies, human development or behavioral economics;
 Excellent oral and written communications skills;
 Excellent organizational, management and interpersonal skills;
 Successful project management experience in an academic setting (e.g. Cooperative Extension).
Preferred Qualifications:
 Experience in University of California Cooperative Extension
 Experience in youth development
 Experience in curriculum development and evaluation

A background investigation will be required for the successful candidate, including fingerprinting and a criminal history clearance by the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
This position is subject to the requirements and compliance of the California’s Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA). Employment within UC ANR is contingent upon securing written acknowledgement to comply with California law.
