Job Description

MU TITLE:  Office Support Assistant IV  

LOCATION: Columbia, MO

MU Extension's Nutrition, Home & Family program provides research based educational programs on nutrition, food safety and preservation, exercise, health, housing, parenting, senior living, and personal finance.  

POSITION OVERVIEW 

The University of Missouri is seeking an exceptional individual to support the Senior Program Director (SPD) for our Nutrition, Home & Family Program (NHF). This position provides administrative and office support for the program leadership.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

  • Organize and complete structured program administrative assignments according to priorities meeting established deadlines.  

  • Recognizes and solves typical problems that occur in work area without supervisory approval and guidance.  

  • Refer to and follow University business, purchasing, fiscal and HR policies and procedures and internal MU Extension related procedures to ensure compliance and accountability.  

  • Provides administrative support to the Senior Program Director to include but not limited to internal and external communications, calendar management, travel coordination and expense reimbursement, scheduling of recurring and priority meetings, and support preparing meeting agendas and other handouts.  

  • Support and assist the Senior Program Director and Education Directors in the planning, development, and implementation of NHF programs and projects.   

Conduct all activities in accordance with the Civil Rights Acts, Title IX, Rehabilitation, Americans with Disabilities Act and local, state and region affirmative action plans.  

As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected to support the mission and purpose of MU Extension.  

LEADERSHIP RECEIVED AND EXERCISED 

Administrative supervision is received from the Senior Program Director, in collaboration with other support positions within the program area. May guide other support staff positions in completing program/project duties.

Salary

Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Salary: $16.00 - $19.00/hour

University Title: Office Support Assistant IV

Shift

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.  

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Excel and Word.  

Strong communications skills and a team player.
