Oregon State University Division of Extension and Engagement is seeking a Director of Professional and Continuing Education (PACE). This is a full-time, 12-month, professional faculty position located in Corvallis or Portland, Oregon.
The Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) unit resides in the Division of Extension and Engagement (Division) at Oregon State University (OSU). The PACE unit is a self-supported unit. The Director of PACE reports to the Associate Vice Provost for Engagement. Members of the PACE team are geographically distributed. The Division will fund the Director of PACE position for three years, after which the unit will be responsible to fund the position.
The Director of PACE leads and provides strategic direction and oversight for the development and expansion of non-credit continuing education courses and professional programs, assesses opportunities, identifies and establishes relationships with internal and external partners, and manages finances.
The director oversees PACE personnel to establish, document and evaluate partnerships and collaborations with government agencies and departments, businesses, corporations, private organizations, educational institutions from K-12 through community colleges and other public and private universities to further access to lifelong learning opportunities within a self-support business model. The director identifies, seeks, and manages the development courses and programs in the areas of workforce development, professional continuing education, economic development programs, certification and licensure, university enrichment courses, and precollege engagement and interaction. The director manages human, financial, and physical resources; develops procedures and processes to attain enrollment and budget goals; and meets compliance requirements needed to support programs that serve continuing education participants.
The director develops, implements, and evaluates short and long-term goals related to professional and continuing education and is a strategic thinker who ensures that the PACE unit is self-sustaining and directed toward achieving the strategic goals of Oregon State University and the Division. The director may represent the unit at campus meetings or on committees.
