MU TITLE: Educational Program Associate II

MU Extension’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (Osher@Mizzou) is a continuing education program that offers non-credit courses designed to complement the lifestyles, interests, and concerns of the 50+ adult. The Institute’s mission is to provide courses that embrace the curious mind of adults in retirement. For more information about Osher@Mizzou, visit osher.missouri.edu.
This position serves as educational program support and is responsible for working with the Associate Director in planning and coordinating all aspects of the program including course development, marketing initiatives, semester course catalog preparations, registration customer support, financial reporting, special events, resource development and member/volunteer engagement. The ability to solve problems in a variety of situations is critical to the success of the program, impacting participants/customers, department, and staff.
Responsibilities Include:
Manage the classroom set-up (tables, chairs) and technology, oversight of the office/meeting facilities and liaison with City of Columbia facility staff; provide course instructor support – including technical assistance, as well as primary customer communication with class participants, membership, advisory council, and committee members (phone, email, and in-person).
Additionally, this position assists with program development (course proposals and scheduling), weekly newsletter content and distribution, membership data, evaluation/survey process, membership attendance and reporting. This position requires attention to detail, affinity for technology, must be people-oriented, have strong customer service and skills, handle private information with discretion.

As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected to support the mission and purpose of MU Extension.
LEADERSHIP RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Administrative supervision is received from the Associate Director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Position may supervise student assistants.

Salary
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
Salary: $16.00 - $18.00/ hour

Shift
Hours are varied depending on programmatic needs but occur primarily M-F, 8 am-5 pm, with some evenings and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications
An associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and some experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
