About This Role:
The Department of Agronomy seeks a Project Data Manager to support the scientific mission of the USDA-NIFA funded Rainfed Agriculture Innovation Network (RAIN) project. This is a multi-institutional interdisciplinary research program spanning Kansas, Oklahoma, and Maryland. The Data Manager facilitates data sharing and organization within the project and works with the project's investigators to design and deliver data products. Data generated from this project will have temporal, spatial, and tabular components. This position will work with students, postdocs, staff, and faculty. Expertise in relational databases, and geospatial data is required. Emphasis of the position is placed on curation of complex datasets, development of collection tools, and facilitating their use for research scientists.

What You'll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering Data Analyst, Agronomy, Soil Science or closely related field.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface with a variety of academic specialties.
• Understanding of data management best practices and available tools.
• Sufficient web programming and design abilities for the creation of data entry tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• M.S. degree in Computer Science or closely related field.
• Experience working collaboratively with a team of scientists across multiple institutions.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:
$44,747 - $57,048.50/ annually. Salary commensurate with experience.
