JOB SUMMARY:

Develop, maintain and analyze project data for multiple departments. Act as overseer for payables and perform audits to ensure compliance. Prepare monthly reports and projections for fiscal spending. Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

25% - Essential - Process accounts payable transactions, check accounting error reports daily including budget check, voucher, unapproved vouchers, and unapproved requisitions by researching and resolving appropriately. Accurately process refunds for Market Place orders as needed. Responsible for working with project managers to coordinate and ensure compliance with the annual submission of billing rates.

20% - Essential - Monitor, analyze, and reconcile projects with funding sources including revenue, educational and general (E&G), public services and agriculture (PSA), gifts, endowments, grants,and others as assigned. Prepare documentation necessary to keep projects balanced using query, analysis, budget amendments, journal entries, Excel spreadsheets, and other means on a monthly basis. Perform financial analyses and spending projections of funds. Constantly monitor projects for deficits and notify CFO or assignee as appropriate. Coordinate grant activities in accordance with Sponsored Program guidelines.

20% - Essential - Conduct routine and random audits of payments from various projects to ensure compliance with State and Clemson University's Procurement policies and procedures. Provide information and individual training to staff and faculty to avoid potential problems with procurement system, credit card transactions and vouchers. Communicate with department employees regularly to educate on procurement policies and procedures. Attend departmental meetings and reiterate procurement information and train staff and faculty on policies and procedures as needed.

20% - Essential - Research, calculate, forecast, and prepare financial summaries for department and college management's use in making financial decisions to benefit the department. Prepare special projects and analyses at the department level as requested. Assist in preparation of annual budgets. Work with departmental administration, development and business office to ensure spending is accurate and appropriate regarding budgets and agreements for Clemson University and Clemson University Foundation gifts and endowment projects.

15% - Essential - Process travel reimbursements and credit card charges, report discrepancies and concerns to the PSA Business Office. Determine sales and use tax for departments, complete appropriate forms, and submit by the due date as determined by the business office and the Controller's office. Prepare reports related determining unrelated business revenue and expenditures as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Exp - 1+ years in accounting/auditing/finance/commercial lending.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Financial Management or related field.

Monitors Budget - Does not provide input but is responsible for monitoring the departmental budget and may oversee fund allocation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Financial Management or related field.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

5% - Overnight Travel

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range: ($ 33,494.00 - $ 43,350.00)
