About This Role:
The Industrial Hemp Analysis Lab at KSU Olathe has an opening for a short-term, part-time Research Aide for the Fall Semester (late August-to late November). The research aide will participate int he intake, analysis, and reporting of industrial hemp samples in a DEA-registered lab. The lab performs analysis of cannabinoids, terpenes, moisture content and water activity of fresh, dried and prepared CBD-hemp derived products. Samples will come from a variety of sources; including, internal research projects, collaborations with other labs, and samples from regional growers. The person filling this role will regularly interface with growers and clients in person and via email and will report to the laboratory manager.

What You'll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma

Preferred Qualifications:
*Ability to follow laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures (SOP's)
*Precise record-keeping
*Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)
*Capacity and willing to learn new research methods and operate lab equipment
*Basic knowledge of plant biology and biochemistry.
*Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or related Discipline
*Experience with liquid chromatography and plant tissue extraction
*Previous job experience including customer service.
*Knowledge in basic lab work including pipetting, washing glassware, analytical balance operation, and willingness to learn various analytical chemistry methods.
*Familiarity with safe laboratory procedures
