About This Role:

The Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (KSVDL) is seeking applicants for a Research Assistant. The personnel in this position will conduct tests in the rabies laboratory including the performance of rabies antibody analyses on human and animal sera including serum neutralization and ELISA assays, the interpretation and reporting of serological and diagnostic results, and maintaining the quality system through documentation, review, and trend analysis for all tests as well as corrective action reports and ensuring the quality of test results. The person in this position will also assist with program operations including monitoring quality control data, accuracy of test result entry, SOP precision and necessary updates, monitoring supplies usage and timely ordering.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Med Tech, CLS, or chemical, physical or biological science

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education must meet CLIA requirements

• Other science degrees need to have: 24 semester hours of science courses (6 hours of chemistry; 6 hours of biology, and 12 hours in chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology, or any combination

• Transcripts are required

• Two or more years of laboratory experience in cell biology, clinical laboratory test procedures and quality review

• Knowledge and/or experience with project management including computer programs and construction/use of formulas in excel
