About this Role:

The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology with the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Research Assistant. This position will assist in performing research in a laboratory.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Will assist with veterinary parasitology research under the direction and in the research laboratory of Dr. Jesudoss Chelladurai. They will perform laboratory assays, gather and analyze experimental data, help in the upkeep of the lab and assist with routine lab duties. Adequate training will be provided to help perform assays and experiments. They will also meet and discuss research assignments with the supervisor at regular intervals.

• Assist with fulfillment of a contractual research agreement in the Small Animal Clinic and Gait Analysis laboratory of the Veterinary Health Center. They will perform screening of previously identified candidates for inclusion into the research study, be responsible for patient visit protocols including blood sampling, clinical assessment, data entry, and gait analysis, and for monitoring patient compliance to protocols for the study duration. Training will be provided for all details of the project.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous laboratory experience

Salary Range / Pay Rate:

$ 36,300 - $ 37,000 annual salary
