Department Summary
The University of Oregon (UO), a member of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, is one of only two Pacific Northwest members of the Association of American Universities and holds the distinction of a “very high research activity” ranking in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. UO is focused on supporting faculty excellence in teaching and research, creating access for outstanding students, and enriching the student experience. The Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI) holds administrative responsibility for numerous high-profile research centers and institutes and core research facilities. These units provide opportunities for faculty across the University to collaborate on research efforts that are inherently interdisciplinary, and of significant societal importance. The VPRI oversees sponsored research, research compliance, technology transfer, and research development, and represents the UO in national organizations such as the AAU (Chief Research Officers) and the APLU (Council of Research). The VPRI also serves as an advocate and catalyst within the University for expanding the range and impact of UO's research, scholarship, and creative endeavors.

The University of Oregon has made considerable investments to enhance research, including an increase in the number of tenure track faculty, competitive startup packages, extensive laboratory renovations, and a high-performance computing facility. The Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact was launched by a $500M gift and is expanding UOs impact in biomedical research and innovation. To further accelerate impact, the OVPRI has developed a strategic plan focused specifically on actions to increase externally sponsored research funding by vigorously supporting faculty capacity to submit competitive proposals.

Position Summary
The Senior Research and Data Analyst (SRDA) is an integral member of the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI). Under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Research Operations, the SRDA serves the OVPRI and research community by conducting analyses to identify, understand, and anticipate trends in research funding, research productivity, and economic impact at the campus and national levels. The SRDA works collaboratively with offices in the division and across the university. The SRDA conducts financial and other data analyses related to research, sponsored projects, innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as develops and implements systems to efficiently track and report sponsored project data and the performance of our research administration and compliance units.

The SRDA is responsible for identifying appropriate methodologies, procedures, timelines, and other campus partners necessary to complete projects in an accurate and timely way.
