Stakeholder Engagement Specialist
Salary: $57,829 - $95,417

The Office of Economic Development and Industry Relations (EDIR) assists external stakeholders in accessing the unique capabilities and services of Iowa State University. EDIR is a single point of contact to streamline the process of making connections between industry and the university. The Iowa State University Research Park is a real estate development closely associated with Iowa State that has tenant relationships with many of Iowa State’s corporate partners.

The Stakeholder Engagement Specialist, impacts and supports economic development by engaging internal and external key stakeholders, including academic, professional, community, and industry members by:

  • Serving as the project manager/lead engagement team member for research park prospects and tenants.
  • Working closely with the engagement team director at the research park to coordinate activities, track projects and share information including, but not limited to Salesforce entry.
  • Functioning as a corporate engagement team member in collaboration with representatives from externally-facing ISU units to create comprehensive strategies, ideas and approaches for developing multi-dimensional, mutually beneficial partnerships with assigned tenant companies, prospects and partners.
  • Working in collaboration with campus partners to develop, deploy and sustain effective models for stakeholder engagement that support the strategic and research priorities of the university.
  • Providing leadership and contributing to advancement of state economic development priorities as well as facilitate internal connections and contribute to initiatives in support of the university’s strategic goals.
  • Seeking to identify opportunities to develop and manage programs that support economic development while enhancing the visibility of the university and advancing its land grant mission.
  • Developing expert knowledge of ISU’s research strengths, strategic priorities, resources and facilities to help promote engagement with stakeholders.
