Testing Center Director

South Dakota State University (SDSU) is offering an exciting career opportunity as the Testing Center Director. We are looking for an educational professional who is detail orientated, skilled at problem solving, and committed to student success. This is a 12-month, 100%-time, benefit-eligible position supervised by the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education. This position will be located in Brookings, SD.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities:

The Testing Center Director will coordinate, oversee, execute and direct the activities and responsibilities related to the management of the Testing Center. Specific duties include providing leadership, direction, training, and supervision of staff; planning, developing, implementing and monitoring Testing Center goals, policies and procedures; preparing and administering the budget; ensuring adherence to national, South Dakota Board of Regents and university testing policies and procedures; serving as the liaison with national testing organizations; disseminating information related to Testing Center policies and procedures; ensuring testing accommodations are provided; providing campus leadership, coordination and direction for testing operations; and performing special projects as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in Education Administration, Business, Management or a related field by start date;
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a higher education setting;
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills;
  • Ability to be detail oriented;
  • Ability to strictly abide by regulations while considering the good of the student;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to work with a variety of populations;
  • PearsonVue, Castle World, Praxis, CLEP, MAT, and ATI certifications or eligibility to obtain certifications within 6 months of start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of higher education administration and principles and theories of test development and test measures;
  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing complex computer-based testing programs;
  • Experience supervising staff. 

Salary:

Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications.
