Texas A&M University

 

The Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for a tenured associate or full professor (preferred) position beginning Fall semester 2023.  This position is a nine-month academic appointment with responsibilities split between research (45%), teaching (45%), and service (10%). Opportunity also for appointment as the Endowed Chair in Cotton Engineering, Ginning and Mechanization. The chair will be expected to lead an internationally recognized applied research program that broadly addresses the needs of the cotton industry in Texas and across the US, as well as coordinating cotton engineering research across the Texas A&M University System and partner institutions.

 

Candidates for the position must have an earned doctorate in Agricultural, Biosystems, or related engineering discipline and should be a well-recognized leader in agricultural machinery systems engineering.  Preferred candidates should have expertise in one or more of the following areas: precision agriculture, sustainability, post-harvest processing, logistics, air quality, or data science; have a documented record of research in cotton engineering; and have a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams in agricultural systems research.
