Required:

• Knowledge typically associated with a Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, education, marketing or a closely related field.
• Approximately 3+ years experience in writing for a variety of audiences.
• Experience working with the media.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy and quality.
• Demonstrated skills in public communication.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and experience fostering effective partnerships.
• Demonstrated skills in working collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to travel, normally requiring a valid driver’s license, to Extension offices and facilities statewide.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of University of Maine Cooperative Extension and its programs.
• Experience leveraging social media to achieve communication objectives and grow online audiences.
• Proficiency in the use of Google Suite, social media management systems, broadcast email programs (Mailchimp).
• Experience using digital asset management systems
• Experience with video production or basic video editing
• Ability to develop high impact graphics and media
