Job Description:
Description of Duties:
The Institute for Social and Health Equity (ISHE) Associate Director for Operations (ADO) will provide ongoing development and management of programing for ISHE. As supervised by ISHE’s Director, the ADO will facilitate ISHE’s regular operations including organization and facilitation of interdisciplinary research collaborations, coordination of and ongoing contributions to projects seeking or supported by external funding, and support for community outreach and partnerships. The ADO will serve as a core member of ISHE’s leadership team and will have primary responsibility for organizing and supporting regular research programming. The ADO will direct a portfolio management process to ensure that proposed or externally funded projects and overall programs are successfully supported. The ADO will provide regular oversight of ISHE’s research and outreach activities.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization with five years of related experience
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to contribute significantly to simultaneous projects
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and programs
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders including across academic and community settings
  • Ability to think both conceptually and concretely to accomplish specific projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and problem-solving skills
  • Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Experience supervising others, particularly large, externally funded projects
  • Experience in program development
  • Experience in managing budgets and reports
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Proficient computer skills- MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • A high degree of initiative and resourcefulness

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization with 3-5 years of progressively more complex and responsible experience
  • Experience with pre- and/or post-award support and grant administration, particularly from the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and/or the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences
  • Demonstrated commitment to public service
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across academic, public, and private sectors
  • Knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative research methods
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse teams of people in a diplomatic, collaborative and effective manner
  • Ability to make independent decisions while working toward a shared strategic vision

Additional Information:
Salary Range
: $85,000 – $105,000
