Job Description:
Description of Duties:
The University at Albany is seeking an Outreach Coordinator (OC) for the Educational Opportunity Centers program (UAlbany EOC). UAlbany EOC is funded by the U.S. Department of Education (ED) to provide counseling and information on college admissions to 850 qualified adults in the Capital Region who want to enter or continue a program of postsecondary education. The OC must be committed to the goals of EOC, and preference will be given to individuals from similar backgrounds as EOC participants. Reporting to the Assistant Project Director (APD), the OC will assist with organizing program events, data collection, producing publicity campaigns, implementing surveys, and verifying applicant eligibility status. The OC will draft correspondence and other program written materials; maintain permanent participant files, schedule meetings, and make travel arrangements for the EOC staff and participants, maintain the PD and APD’s calendars, provide administrative and clerical support for all other program activities, order and maintain all supplies and equipment, and track expenditures and process requisitions. As a member of advisory board, the OC will schedule meetings, develop agendas, and takes minutes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or two years of college level course work (60 credits) and two years of work experience.
  • Extensive experience with word processing, database management, and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
  • Ability to travel between project work sites, including travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation.
  • Must be able to occasionally work on Saturdays and evenings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with funded grant programs.
  • Experience working in an educational setting.
  • Life experiences like the life experiences of UAlbany EOC participants.

Additional Information:
Salary Range: $39,000-$44,000
