Job Description:
Description of Duties:
This position is responsible for conducting program activities that facilitate and support the research studies and projects undertaken by the Institute for Traffic Safety Management and Research and assist New York in qualifying for federal highway safety funding. The major responsibilities of this position include implementing New York’s annual statewide seat belt observational survey in accordance with federal requirements, coordinating the planning and implementation of New York’s Annual Highway Safety Symposium, Biennial Walk, Bike and Roll Symposium and other statewide traffic safety events, conducting surveys and other data collection efforts and assisting in the preparation of project reports and other deliverables. This position also maintains and updates ITSMR’s website and social media presence.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in hospitality, journalism, communications, public administration, business administration, or a related field AND three years of relevant professional experience OR an associate degree in the fields indicated AND a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.
• Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience in organizing large-scale, multi-faceted events.
• Supervisory experience.
• A proven ability to negotiate contracts for event space and lodging.
• Experience utilizing event planning software.
• Experience setting up and collecting payments via electronic software.
• Experience utilizing and creating online forms and surveys.
• Experience maintaining websites utilizing WordPress.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Willingness to continually self-educate.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Experience developing and implementing an engaging social media strategy.

Additional Information:
Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 Depending on experience
