Content Coordinator

The Office of Communications in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) is seeking a creative and motivated professional to create, share and measure engaging content across multiple platforms. The Content Coordinator will collaborate with the Director and Assistant Directors of Communications to build and execute marketing plans with key SEAS constituents, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors and industry partners. They will be a vital team member in a highly collaborative and creative environment, dedicated to telling great stories, creating flexible content and driving engagement to promote the SEAS disciplinary excellence initiatives aimed at increasing the school’s ranking, reputation, recruiting, and enrollment. The ideal candidate will have a mix of creative skills and a love of storytelling.

As the Content Coordinator, you will be responsible for

    • The creation and stewardship of news content and other written content that will be distributed to SEASaudiences and stakeholders through school communications channels. These channels include but are not limited to websites, print publications, digital newsletters, advertisements, and marketing collateral.
    • The management of SEAS social media accounts
    • Updating various content on school websites related to news content and media
    • Capturing multimedia content such as photography and video.
    • Working on other communications materials for SEAS as a writer, copyeditor, fact-checker and/or proofreader.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven writing and editing skills, including an ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences.
  • High digital literacy.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of experience, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in communications at a higher education institution.
  • Previous experience in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising, or other relevant industries.
  • Degree in English, communications, journalism or other related field.
  • Familiarity with Associated Press (AP) Style.
  • Proficiency with content management systems (CMS).
