Position Summary:

University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking an Executive Director of University Advancement to provide strategic and dynamic leadership in the areas of Development, Alumni Relations and University Relations, working closely with the chancellor’s cabinet and members of the university community. The Executive Director of University Advancement will provide leadership and direction in all areas of university advancement including the development, implementation and evaluation of UAF’s fundraising efforts, donor relations, alumni affairs and engagement, marketing, communications and public relations strategies and activities. This position will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders including alumni, benefactors, students, faculty, staff and the broader community in advancing the university’s overall mission of research, teaching and public service. This position will report to the UAF chancellor and serve as a member of the chancellor’s core cabinet.

Leadership/management experience in marketing, fundraising, public relations, strategic planning and public speaking. Documented successful experience in executive level management requiring financial accountability, contract administration and supervision of both technical and non-technical staff.

Preferred experience:
Higher education experience, fundraising credentials (CFRE), public relations certification (APR), experience with major fundraising campaigns, alumni relations experience. Familiarity with the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required in business administration, communications, public relations, marketing, management, public administration, non-profit management or related field.

Preferred education or training:
Master’s degree in similar disciplines.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, exempt staff position with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. Salary is commensurate with experience.
