The mission of the University of Michigan Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) is to catalyze, support, and safeguard U-M research. OVPR has numerous reporting units conducting research as well as units focused on services and support of our researchers across U-M?s three campuses. The service and support units all provide critical support to position our researchers for success.

Based in OVPR and reporting to the Associate Director of Research Intelligence, the Research Intelligence Analyst will support a new effort to help U-M proactively identify emerging national and global research trends, including priorities for federal and private sector stakeholders. This position will work closely with teams across OVPR including research development, public engagement, foundation partnerships, federal relations, and research analytics.

A successful candidate must be able to develop a comprehensive, cross-functional understanding of the external research funding environment to support the identification of emerging research trends, opportunities, and strategic priorities, and communicate these out to a range of stakeholders across the institution.
