The mission of the University of Michigan Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) is to catalyze, support, and safeguard U-M research. OVPR has numerous reporting units conducting research as well as units focused on services and support of our researchers across U-M?s three campuses. The service and support units all provide critical support to position our researchers for success.
Based in OVPR, the Associate Director of Research Intelligence will lead and support a new effort to help U-M proactively identify emerging national and global research trends, including priorities for federal and private sector stakeholders. This position will directly report to the Associate Vice President for Research – Strategic Initiatives and will work closely with teams across OVPR including research development, public engagement, foundation partnerships, federal relations, and research analytics.
A successful candidate must have outstanding interpersonal skills to work well with a range of researchers and internal and external (to the University) partners to support the identification of emerging research trends, opportunities, and strategic priorities. The successful candidate will also instill diversity, equity and inclusion principles that will guide program governance and decision making.
