Job Description

MU TITLE:  Educational Program Coordinator III

LOCATION: 1110 S. College Ave, Columbia MO

The University of Missouri (MU) Office of Extension and Engagement’s distinct land-grant mission is to improve lives, communities, and economies by producing relevant, reliable, and responsive educational strategies throughout Missouri. The University of Missouri Fire and Rescue Training Institute (MU FRTI) provides training throughout Missouri and nationally, to volunteer and career firefighters, fire specialists, fire officers, members of industrial and institutional fire brigades, and members of allied emergency services organizations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Develop, design, and publish brochures and publications for promoting events and distributing organizational information. The Winter Fire School, Summer Fire School, Missouri Emergency Services, Fire Service Leadership Enhancement Program, and the Annual Report brochures occur annually. Most publications are made available in both printed and digital formats.
  • Design, publish, and upload for printing the bimonthly magazine for the Fire Fighters Association of Missouri. The magazine is available in both printed and digital formats.
  • Enter and edit classes, conferences, and event details in the MyExtension, Cvent, and Magento platforms for publishing on the website.
  • Collaborate with MU Extension web services to maintain accurate information on the website. Includes creating graphics, images, and copywriting.
  • Administer, organize, and schedule online and blended classes using the Cherwell Portal, Canvas, and Catalog platforms. Act as technical support for instructors and students within the Canvas platform.
  • Create, schedule, and manage promotional and informational emails for FRTI, LETI, and NACIS in the Dot Digital platform. Includes creating graphics, images, and copywriting.
  • Create, schedule, and manage the MU FRTI social media accounts. Includes creating graphics, images, copywriting, engaging, and responding to comments and questions.
  • Update, edit, and organize the archive of the MU FRTI curriculum. Includes creating new versions, providing downloadable digital versions for instructors, and ordering printed materials shipped to scheduled classes.
  • Shoot, edit, organize, and archive photos and videos of classes and events for use in all promotional materials.
  • Create and distribute Qualtrics surveys to collect data.

LEADERSHIP RECEIVED AND EXERCISED 

Administrative supervision is received from the Assistant Director of First Responder Education, Coordinator of the Fire and Rescue Training Institute. Functional supervision may be exercised over a small to medium sized office support staff and student assistants.

Salary

Salary Range: $48,900 – $62,971

Grade: GGS-009E

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
