Job Description

MU TITLE:  Office Support Assistant IV

LOCATION:  2800 Maguire Blvd, Columbia, MO

The University of Missouri Fire and Rescue Training Institute (MU FRTI) provides training throughout Missouri and nationally, to volunteer and career firefighters, fire specialists, fire officers, members of industrial and institutional fire brigades, and members of allied emergency services organizations.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

 Provides general/routine administrative and office support that includes a broad range of duties. 

 Greet visitors, answer incoming calls, route calls, take messages, and respond to general inquiries. 

 Assist with FRTI event registrations. 

 Prepare and process payment vouchers, including travel and non-payroll vouchers. 

 Receive and record direct payments. 

 Prepare and process adjunct faculty payroll. 

 Conduct all activities in accordance with the Civil Rights Acts, Title IX, Rehabilitation, Americans with Disabilities Act and local, state and region affirmative action plans. 

 As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of MU Extension. 

LEADERSHIP RECEIVED AND EXERCISED 

Administrative supervision is received from the FRTI Educational Program Coordinator III. May mentor others in completing office and administrative duties.

 Salary

Salary Range: $16.00 – $19.34 hourly

Grade: GGS-006

University Title: Office Support Assistant IV

Shift

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. 

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with University of Missouri clerical and fiscal processes and policies. Analytical skills and demonstrated organizational skills. Prior administrative and clerical experience. Effective communication skills, superior customer service relations experience, attention to detail and time management.

Professional and friendly demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals.

Proficient computer skills primarily in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Claris FileMaker and PeopleSoft data entry.
