MU Extension 4-H Center for Youth Development provides leadership and expertise with developing communities of young people across Missouri who are learning citizenship, leadership, and life skills. 4-H is publicly supported by county, state, and federal partners, as well as private resources to enrich the learning experiences of both youth and adults. The Missouri AfterSchool Network (MASN) is housed within the 4-H Center for Youth Development. MASN brings partners together to provide a statewide system for the development, implementation, and ultimate sustainability of high quality, safe, nurturing afterschool programs for extended experiential learning, academic achievement, and social, recreational, and personal life skills development espousing the principals of best practices in youth development for all Missouri students during non-school hours. This position is a full-time benefit-eligible position responsible for providing training, technical assistance, and resources to afterschool providers statewide while delivering STEM education programming to school-age children and youth in afterschool and summer enrichment programs. Significant amount of travel is a requirement to successfully complete the work of this position.
Remote work is an option when projects do not require in-person presence and incumbent is meeting daily deliverables and quarterly goals.
This is a 12-month academic position, not eligible for tenure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Facilitate and carry out the delivery of training, technical assistance, and other supports to afterschool programs focused on STEM programming across the state. Assist in the compilation and development of resource materials or publications required by MASN.
Deliver STEM enrichment programming to K-12 grade youth as part of the STEM Mobile Lab project. Plan and lead age-appropriate lessons in a variety of STEM fields including technology, chemistry, life sciences, engineering, and astronomy. Incorporate STEM content knowledge while inspiring curiosity and efficacy and making connections to future careers.
Work with program leaders, program staff, committees, and other entities on issues concerning STEM technical assistance, training, or professional development for local afterschool programs at all grade levels.
Attend and present (when appropriate) at local, regional, state, and national meetings or conferences.
Conduct all activities in accordance with the Civil Rights Acts, Title IX, Rehabilitation, Americans with Disabilities Act and local, state and region affirmative action plans.
As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of MU Extension.

Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in upper-level coursework in one or more of the domains of the 4-H Professional Research and Knowledge at time of appointment. The domains are youth and adult development, learning strategies and education, organizational systems, and resource management, resource management, and community partnerships.
Candidates must demonstrate they are authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship of U.S. temporary employment visas will not be offered for this position.
Ability to travel regularly and work flexible hours is required.

Experience in 4-H youth, afterschool programming or other comparable community-based youth programs.
