Job Description

MU TITLE:  Instructional Developer IV

LOCATION:  #1 Hospital Drive, Columbia MO

Continuing Education for Health Professions (CEHP) delivers high-quality educational programs to Missouri’s health care professionals.

The University of Missouri Office of Continuing Education for Health Professions (CEHP) is seeking an Instructional Developer IV. This person will take content developed by a range of Subject Matter Experts and present it to adult learners in engaging and interactive ways. Working with both the internal CEHP team and external partners, the Instructional Developer IV will develop materials that meet defined learning outcomes.

This position will be responsible for supporting CEHP’s rapidly growing online learning presence, beginning with an effort to standardize training and other learning opportunities for those persons providing health care services in every school district in the state.  As that effort winds down, this position will also likely be helping to meet the online learning needs of the other units in the Office of Health Outreach, Policy and Education (HOPE), while still being housed in CEHP.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Develop interactive and engaging content for use on multiple platforms, including LMS (Canvas), public-access websites, and others.
  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to gather educational content and develop courses and/or web content.
  • Serve as a member of the content development team to provide delivery modality input.
  • Gain and apply a working understanding of continuing education accreditation rules
  • Gain and apply a thorough understanding of University branding/identity guidelines.
  • Work across HOPE units as needed, while also identifying opportunities for strategic collaboration.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Conduct all activities in accordance with the Civil Rights Acts, Title IX, Rehabilitation, Americans with Disabilities Act and local, state and region affirmative action plans.

As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected to support the mission and purpose of MU Extension.

LEADERSHIP RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Administrative supervision is received from the CEHP Senior Media Producer. This position is not responsible for supervision but may mentor or provide guidance to others in completing educational support duties.

Salary Range: $25.00 – $28.55

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience developing educational programming for an adult/professional audience is necessary.

Possesses conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within the Educational Support function.

Applies general knowledge of educational support techniques developed through education and experiences.

Works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines in accordance with established priorities, timelines, budget, etc.

Working knowledge of Canvas (or similar LMS), SCORM, plus related tools.
