Academic Advisor

The College of Arts and Sciences is currently accepting applications for an Academic Advisor position. We are excited to find a candidate to join our Student Services team that includes Academic Advisors, Career Coaches, Academic Navigators, and Recruitment. This person is planned to work most closely with Psychology and Sociology majors. Our college values the advisor-student relationship that allows advisors to support students overall success and well-being academically, personally, and professionally. Additionally, we strive to provide a workplace that values our staff and ensures they are supported personally and professionally. Job Description: Advise current and prospective students in one or more majors in the College of Arts and Sciences on academic program planning in person and virtually through drop-ins and appointments, and by phone and email. Participate in recruitment and retention efforts, including Red Letter Days and New Student Enrollment. Encourage overall well-being and adjustment to the University as well as exploration of interests as they relate to majors and careers. Assist students in identifying quality real-world experience through internships, research, education abroad, service, and leadership.
