Executive Assistant
The Executive Assistant provides highly-skilled professional support with wide latitude for exercising discretion and judgment. The position provides management and decision support to the Executive Vice Chancellor (EVC) through high-level programmatic/scheduling and project support. Works closely with the Chief of Staff to develop action steps for managing the wide range of responsibilities and demands for the EVC. Responsibilities include calendaring, organization of activities, commitments and priorities, tracking and monitoring progress, and prompting the EVC as needed. Assists with prioritization of requests and reprioritization when new issues arise. Responsible for detailed meeting preparation, planning and arrangements, as well as some assistance with travel. Also, prepares materials for meetings such as drafting agendas and correspondence; collects, disseminates, and archives materials and manages electronic files. Provides excellent client service to constituents and guests.

The Executive Assistant will join an energetic, service-centered, and team-oriented staff in an office that strives to leverage individual strengths, talents and interests.

Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree plus five years progressively-responsible administrative experience or customer relations required; equivalent education/experience considered.
    • Demonstrated experience working with high-level administrators and constituent groups. Proficient in relevant software programs, including MS Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook or other e-mail clients, and zoom.
    • Evidence of excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Sound judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential and high-priority matters.
    • Must possess a strong service-centered philosophy.
    • Ability to work independently and effectively as a team member.

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with higher education/UNL academic programs and administrative structure.
