Honors Coordinator

The Honors Coordinator is responsible for supporting the goals of the University Honors Program by engaging recruitment activities and retention/student success efforts, both on campus and in coordination with community partners. The position will oversee Honors application review, give group presentations and individual campus visits, and supervise the Honors student Ambassadors. This role will coordinate the Honors Afterschool Clubs program, advise students regarding Honors requirements and opportunities, and teach assigned sections of Honors one- and zero-credit courses. The coordinator will contribute to shared office administration related to purchasing, event planning, supporting student programming, and other duties as assigned. This position is expected to develop new programs and events in response to the interests of the Director of the University Honors Program.

Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of professional experience with managing or contributing to student recruitment, retention and/or success initiatives. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage data essential. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse range of individuals. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team.Demonstrated ability to develop, organize and implements events.

Preferred qualifications:
Professional experience with college recruitment. Experience working with recruitment and/or retention of underrepresented student populations. Experience with Honors education and/or students with distinction, as a student or professional. Professional experience with developing and maintaining partnerships between educational units and community organizations. Knowledge of UNL information and communication systems, such as MyRed, Salesforce Student Success Hub, Target X, and/or Canvas.
