Instructional Designer

The Center for Transformative Teaching (CTT) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is committed to attracting and retaining a diverse staff. As an Instructional Designer, you will support the mission of the Center for Transformative Teaching (CTT) at UNL by providing teaching, course design, and related technology consultations to faculty for in-person, blended, and online learning environments. Your position will require working collaboratively with the other instructional designers on the team to implement CTT priorities, programs, and initiatives. You will have opportunities to implement evidence-based teaching strategies for successful and inclusive student learning experiences. You will also collaborate with program, college, and other University units on projects that advance teaching innovation and excellence.

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree  in instructional design, educational technology, curriculum and instruction or related field  plus one or more years’ experience in a combination of teaching, instructional design, educational technologies, course development, or related areas. Experience working with learning management systems, and course design and development. Excellent organizational, communication, and team collaboration skills. Knowledge of learning theories, instructional design, and inclusive pedagogy.

Preferred qualifications:
The ideal candidate may have a Master’s degree. Two or more years’ experience in a combination of teaching, instructional design, educational technologies, course development, or related areas. Experience within a post-secondary environment. Successful experience with project management, multimedia development, and development in Canvas LMS. Knowledge of one or more specialist pedagogies or Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). Proficient in using communication and presentation technologies such as Zoom, PowerPoint, lecture capturing software, etc. Knowledge of one or more specialist pedagogies or Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).
