Building upon a proud and longstanding tradition of excellence in distance education, Old Dominion University seeks an inaugural Vice President for Digital Learning to establish and lead ODU Global.
A new standalone unit, ODU Global will centralize and strengthen online education operations, staff and support services across the university, extending Old Dominion University's reach and enhancing its impact as a leader in online learning.
In leading ODU Global, the Vice President for Digital Learning will carry forward the work of a university-wide task force assembled by President Brian O. Hemphill. After taking office as ODU's ninth president in 2021, President Hemphill charged the group with producing recommendations for enhancing the university's online programs and related services while growing the enrollment of fully online students at ODU.
The Vice President for Digital Learning will have significant prior experience with digital pedagogy and learning platforms, a record of successful online program development and management, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The successful candidate will have a record of success building partnerships that foster an appreciation for the mission and impact of higher education, especially at the highest levels of research and service.
