Website Coordinator
Working within the context of an integrated marketing communications plan and the information technology strategic plan and under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Strategic Communications, the Website Coordinator provides daily administration, development, and maintenance of websites and webpages for WSU Spokane.
Work includes creating web content in WordPress using a high level of design and communication skills. Ensures that web content is relevant and is kept up-to-date. Ensures that photographs and other digital assets follow University brand standards. Implements and manages updates as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Website Design and Development – 50%
  • Website Management and Support – 30%
  • CRM and Email Support – 15%
  • Other – 5%

Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in information science or related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in web site design, development and maintenance. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated technical experience in front-end web design and understanding of website design principles and web accessibility standards.
  • Knowledge of modern website technologies, including but not limited to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other scripting languages.
  • Proficient in WordPress.
  • Demonstrated experience applying high standards of creative web design techniques to strategically communicate different messages.
  • Demonstrated understanding of branding.
  • Experience working with marketing professionals, writers, editors, graphic designers, photographers, and/or videographers.
  • Proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills,
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply changing graphic design and publishing technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a collaborative environment and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Section 508 Accessibility Guidelines and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines for Web users with disabilities.
  • Familiarity with designing for search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Experience working with Slate CRM.
  • Previous experience in higher education.
