R-10151 Administrative Assistant, College of Arts and Sciences, Vancouver Campus

The Administrative Assistant serves as confidential and administrative assistant to the Academic Director and Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at WSU Vancouver. This position is the primary point of contact for CAS and exercises independent judgment and discretion for planning, organizing and prioritizing work, developing and compiling reports, and assisting the Academic Director with CAS operational processes and procedures.

The position initiates actions to ensure work unit and office goals are met and has frequent contact with students, clients, the public, faculty, staff, and other WSU offices and units. Assignments and projects are of a complex nature requiring substantive knowledge of a variety of regulations, rules, policies, procedures, and processes. They will coordinate special events and projects on behalf of CAS. This position is responsible for a variety of functions that include but are not limited to office space management, equipment purchases, personnel administration, records management, and report preparation.

Required Qualifications:

High School graduation or equivalent AND three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work; OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working in higher education.
      Experience coordinating or leading the work of multiple personnel.
      Experience using Workday or other cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.

    40% Administrative support.

    30% CAS Operational Support.

    20% Management and Supervision of CAS Staff

    5% Office Support – Multimedia Classroom Building (MMC) 2nd Floor
