APLU Statement on the Build Back Better Reconciliation Legislation

Washington, D.C. — Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) President Peter McPherson today released the following statement on the Build Back Better reconciliation legislation unveiled today.

“We thank lawmakers and President Biden for taking the next step with critical investments in college access, affordability, equity, and completion as well as federal research through the Build Back Better reconciliation package. While the investments aren’t funded at the levels originally proposed, this legislation represents substantial progress for millions of students and the advancement of scientific discoveries. We urge Congress to quickly pass the legislation.”
