Washington, DC – Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) President Peter McPherson today released the following statement calling on Congress to provide emergency funding to public universities to address and deal with the fallout of the coronavirus pandemic. This week, APLU and other higher education and research groups outlined requests for emergency federal higher education and research funding.

Washington, DC – Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) President Peter McPherson today sent the following letter to Democratic and Republicans leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives urging that the chamber approve the Fostering Undergraduate Talent by Unlocking Resources for Education (FUTURE) Act this week. That bill would continue critical funding for the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) and other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) that is set to otherwise expire.
