Amazon Marketplace Vice President Faricy to Address 2016 APLU Annual Meeting

Peter Faricy, Vice President of Amazon Marketplace, will be the Council of Presidents’ Luncheon speaker during the 2016 APLU Annual Meeting — which will take place November 13-15, in Austin, TX. Faricy has served as Vice President of Amazon Marketplace since 2009. He is responsible for overseeing millions of third-party sellers worldwide, spanning 11 global marketplaces with a focus on innovation to deliver the best results for customers and sellers.  Early registration for the APLU Annual Meeting is now open

The Amazon Marketplace teams build and manage the technology and product features that enable growth for businesses selling on Amazon, and they own the end-to-end experience for sellers. Since 2009, the Amazon Marketplace has grown from roughly 30 percent of the total units sold on Amazon to approximately 50 percent.

Peter Faricy

Previously, as Amazon's Vice President of Music and Movies from 2006-2009,  Faricy managed the ongoing success of Amazon’s music and movie product categories for North America. In this role, he oversaw the end-to-end strategy for the division, including the customer experience and vendor management. 

Prior to joining Amazon, Faricy served in leadership roles at Borders Group, Ford Motor Co. and McKinsey & Co.  He holds an MBA with distinction from the University of Michigan and a BA in Business Administration from Michigan State University. He is currently serving as Director, Dean’s Advisory Board for the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan and Director, President Campaign Committee, Michigan State University.
