Request for Proposals: Public Universities to Partner with Community Colleges on Equity Transfer

To help advance equity by addressing barriers to effectively and efficiently transferring from two-year to four-year institutions, APLU and the Coalition of Urban Serving Universities are joining with the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) in the Equity Transfer Initiative (ETI). The ETI aims to increase transfer rates for African American, Hispanic, adult, and first-generation learners.

APLU, AASCU, USU, and AACC member institutions are eligible to apply for participation in the ETI. Cross-institutional teams will work together to expand existing and/or develop new transfer pathways in at least five high-demand occupations. Participating institutions will receive support from transfer coaches and technical assistance from subject-matter experts to implement the work required to expand and/or establish pathways. As a part of the ETI work, teams will implement evidence-based or new equity strategies that improve student success for the students being served through the ETI. ETI transfer pathways will be structured to ensure student completion of the associate degree before transfer to the four-year partner institution(s).

The ETI is made possible through generous support from ECMC Foundation and Ascendium Education Group. The ETI is hosting an informational webinar for institutions interested in applying today at 3pm ET. The webinar will be recorded for those who cannot attend and a link to the recording will appear here when available. Click here to review the Request for Proposals and learn more about the opportunity. Applications are due by December 2 at 5pm ET.
