MTE-Partnership Conferences and Meetings

The MTE-Partnership has held annual conferences since its inception in 2012. These working conferences provide an important opportunity for participants to learn from each other, to further the work of the Research Action Clusters (RACs), and to build the identity of the MTE-Partnership.

The 10th Annual MTE-Partnership Conference was held virtually on June 28-30, 2021. The conference was primarily intended for teams of persons who are actively engaged in the MTE-Partnership or who are affiliated with an institution engaged in the MTE-Partnership.

The 9th annual MTE-Partnership Conference was held on June 28-30, virtually. This working conference included a mix of general sessions addressing critical issues in secondary mathematics teacher preparation, with particular focus on program transformation and equity and social justice; research reports by the Research Action Clusters (RACs) and conference participants; networking within and across partnership teams; and significant time for work by the RACs.

The 8th annual MTE-Partnership Conference was held June 23-25, St. Louis, MO. This working conference included a mix of general sessions addressing critical issues in secondary mathematics teacher preparation, with particular focus on program transformation and equity and social justice; research reports by the Research Action Clusters (RACs) and conference participants; networking within and across partnership teams; and significant time for work by the RACs.

The 7th annual MTE-Partnership Conference was held June 24-26, Denver, CO. This working conference included a mix of general sessions addressing critical issues in secondary mathematics teacher preparation, with particular focus on program transformation and equity and social justice; research reports by the Research Action Clusters (RACs) and conference participants; networking within and across partnership teams; and significant time for work by the RACs.

The 6th annual MTE-Partnership Conference was held June 25-27 in New Orleans, LA. With close to 90 mathematics teacher educators, mathematicians, and K-12 personnel in attendance, the conference continued focus on the work of the RACs to address key issues in secondary mathematics teacher preparation, including work on program transformation and issues related to equity and social justice.

The 5th annual MTE-Partnership Conference was held June 26-28 in Atlanta, GA. The conference highlighted program transformation and issues related to equity and social justice, in addition to continuing to work in the RACs. Over 90 mathematics teacher educators, mathematicians, and K-12 personnel participated.

The 4th annual MTE-Partnership Conference was held June 22-24 in Fullerton, CA. Over 90 participants, including a sizable from the California State University System, worked to further the work of the Research Action Clusters and to launch a new RAC focused on new teacher retention.

The 3rd annual MTE-Partnership Conference was held June 6-8 in Milwaukee, WI. The conference focused on the further development of the five Research Action Clusters (RACs).

The 2nd annual MTE-Partnership Conference was held June 7-9 in St. Louis. The conference focused on a set of white papers that provided an in-depth analysis of four priority action areas identified by the MTE-Partnership: Building a Vision; Field Experiences; Mathematical Content Knowledge; and Recruitment and Retention.

The 1st annual MTE-Partnership Conference was held March 25-27 in Atlanta. Conference attendees represented the initiatives’ 38 partnerships comprised of 68 universities, 87 school systems (urban and rural), and 9 community colleges across 30 states.
