During Phase I, the SEMINAL team conducted retrospective case studies of six institutions that have successfully engaged in program transformation around P2C2 courses: University of Colorado Boulder, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, San Diego State University, University of Michigan, University of Illinois-Chicago, and Sam Houston State University. Following data collection throughout the spring 2017 semester, the SEMINAL team is now engaged in analyses of our case study data. From each site, after collecting a self-study, a two-day site visit featured many interviews, along with observations of P2C2 courses. We also asked sites to administer surveys of students, P2C2 instructors, and the Math Department as a whole. The intended product from Phase I is a guidebook that will feature a thematic look at the features of successful programs, along with descriptions of these institutions’ contexts and P2C2 transformation histories.
