Last Friday, President Trump signed H.R. 244, the Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 omnibus appropriations bill to fund the federal government for the remainder of the current fiscal year (through September 30, 2017).
The bill reinstates year-round Pell eligibility, which is vital for advancing student success and degree completion efforts. Moreover, the omnibus bill’s $2 billion increase for the National Institutes of Health represents the second consecutive year of a $2 billion increase. APLU has updated its appropriations priorities chart to reflect the completion of FY2017 appropriations.
