Three-Month Continuing Resolution and Debt Limit Extension Signed Into Law
President Trump on September 8 signed into law a stopgap funding and debt ceiling measure, which both funds the federal government and extends the debt ceiling through December 8. The legislation also includes $15.25 billion in emergency spending to address some of the damage caused by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Showcase Application Deadline Nears
APLU and the Association of American Universities (AAU), in partnership with VentureWell and the National Academy of Inventors, will host the inaugural University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Showcase, highlighting APLU- and AAU-university affiliated startup businesses on Monday, November 13 and Tuesday, November 14 during the APLU Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. The showcase will promote the importance of federally-funded university research and demonstrate how university-led entrepreneurial engagement contributes to the innovation economy.
Institutions interested in submitting applications to have their research showcased are due Friday, September 22 and must be submitted via this form.
