APLU will host a free workshop on campus-wide advising redesign ahead of its 2017 annual meeting in Washington, DC. The workshop, Launching Campus-Wide Advising Redesign, will be held Saturday, November 11 1:00 to 5:00pm (EST) at the Marriott Wardman Park, where the APLU Annual Meeting is being held.
As part of improving overall student success, many institutions are examining how to improve the delivery of advising and student support services. APLU’s workshop will focus on launching, implementing, and sustaining campus-wide efforts to increase student success by integrating the delivery of advising, academic, and student support services and the use of technology tools.
The workshop will begin with a panel discussion with campus leaders from Colorado State University, in which academic affairs, student affairs, and institutional research leaders will discuss how they integrated initiatives across their campus as part of their strategic plan to increase student success. Participants will then have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues on several activities from APLU’s online course on campus-wide advising redesign, A SMART Approach to Student Success. The workshop will be followed by a networking reception.
