Submit Nominees for APLU’s Board on Human Sciences Public Service and Lifetime Achievement Awards by July 20

The nomination period for the APLU Board on Human Sciences’ Public Service and Lifetime Achievement awards is open until July 20. The awards, which recognize national leaders who have advanced the human sciences, will be presented on November 12, 2018 at APLU’s 131^st Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ellen Swallow Richards Public Service Award
The Ellen Swallow Richards Public Service Award honors a nationally-recognized leader who has a significant history of promoting and advancing the Human Sciences. Nominees for the BoHS Ellen Swallow Richards Public Service Award are typically individuals who have supported higher education, and especially the mission of the Human Sciences and other programs in land-grant universities. Although nominees may be Human Science scholars, it is not required. The award is intended to recognize an outstanding leader who helps to advance the Human Sciences nationally and/or internationally. The award is named in honor of Ellen Swallow Richards, who dedicated her life to applying research to enhance the well-being of individuals, families and communities.

Lifetime Achievement Award
The Board on Human Sciences Lifetime Achievement Award honors a nationally-recognized leader who has a significant history of promoting and advancing the Human Sciences. Nominees for the BoHS Lifetime Achievement Award are individuals who serve or have served in significant faculty and/or administrative roles in higher education. Additionally, candidates are individuals who have earned recognition for advancing the mission of the Human Sciences and related disciplines in colleges and universities.
