Six Presidential Higher Education Associations Come Together to Volunteer on National Day of Service

Earlier this month, APLU, the American Council on Education, the Association of American Universities, the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, and the Association of American Community Colleges came together to volunteer ahead of the September 11 National Day of Service.

Volunteers prepared care kits, paracord survival bracelets, and thank-you notes supporting deployed troops, veterans, and first responders.

Collectively, the associations helped put together 200 care kits, create 100 paracord bracelets (which can be unraveled in an emergency situation to provide 7.5 feet of super-strong rope or string), and write 40 letters to deployed troops, veterans, and first responders.
