Accepting Applications: Equity Workshop for Powered by Publics Members

Powered by Publics is excited to announce a special upcoming professional development opportunity for those interested in taking their campus equity initiatives to the next level. APLU is sponsoring teams from up to 12 campuses to participate in a 1-day virtual workshop, the “7 Problems with Problems,” facilitated by the women and minority-owned firm Equity Meets Design (eXd) on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

This workshop is designed to help participants delve deeper into complex equity problems and gain clarity before taking action. The workshop utilizes an equity-centered design process to understand the root causes of university-identified problems the institution is working to tackle and prototype and test potential solutions. Campus teams will leave with a shared framework, set of tools, and vocabulary that will enable continued collaboration and an intentional focus on equity in process and outcomes. The workshop is free of charge for Powered by Publics members. Capacity is capped, however, at 12 campus teams of up to 6 individuals per team. Please complete the brief online application by Friday, July 29 to be considered for participation.
